Invention horn (orchestral horn) before 1850

This is an invention horn, or orchestral horn, by Carl Gottlob Schüster, whose dates are unknown. The composition is dominated by the contrast between the rigid geometry of the wooden box and the fluid curves of the brass horn. The box, with its sharp edges and visible joinery, imposes a sense of order, while the horn's coiled tubing and flared bell introduce an element of unpredictable movement.
