Editor: Here we have Hanne Darboven's "Card Index: Filing Cabinet, Part 2," from an unspecified date, residing at the Tate. These pieces are huge, and at first glance, they look like massive grids! What's your take on this? Curator: Well, my dear, imagine the quiet hum of an office, the gentle rustle of papers. Darboven, for me, transforms the mundane into something almost meditative. It's like she's asking: Can repetition be a form of…revelation? Are we just files in a giant cabinet? Editor: Revelation through repetition? I hadn't considered that! Curator: Precisely! And it makes you wonder, doesn't it, about the beauty hidden in the everyday. It might make the office worker into a philosopher and the card index into the cosmos!
