Tapio Anttila made this light called ‘Tip’, and it’s floating here in space, radiating calm. I’m wondering how the feeling of making it might have come about— the artist experimenting, making intuitive shifts, and slowly, this pure, ethereal form emerges. I can imagine Anttila thinking about light not just as illumination, but as a physical material. The subtle texture, the soft glow, that perfect edge. It reminds me of some of James Turrell's light installations but in a much smaller form. It’s an open question, this thing: is it art or design? So much great art asks that question, playing with function and form, pushing boundaries. Ultimately, it's about how Anttila has transformed a simple idea into an object that sparks our curiosity, and makes us rethink the relationship between light and space.
