These ear pendants were made by Ait Jerrar Amazigh, and it's amazing how different materials come together to form these intricate designs. There's something so appealing about how these pieces were assembled, the mix of coral, silver, and glass beads creating a visual dance. What strikes me is the texture and the slight imperfections, like the rough edges of the silver, or the small scratches on the glass. It's almost as if the artist is saying, ‘Here it is, in all its imperfect glory.’ Look closely at the silver medallions, there's this beautiful enamel detail in the center, like a tiny painting. Think of artists like Yayoi Kusama, who also used repetition and pattern to create a sense of infinity in her work. It’s this sense of an ongoing conversation, a back-and-forth between tradition and innovation that makes art so exciting, don't you think?
