Biography
Jolán Gross-Bettelheim (1900-1972) was a Hungarian artist known for her bold and expressive black and white prints. Her work often focused on industrial themes, exploring the relationship between humans and the machine age. Using simplified geometric forms and strong lines, Gross-Bettelheim created powerful and often unsettling images. Her works, such as "Power Plant" and "War," evoke a sense of both awe and anxiety towards the industrial landscape, with a distinctly modern sensibility.
