Biography
Jacobus Fernandus Adolphus Semey (1891-1973) was a Dutch designer known for his furniture designs in the Art Deco style. Born in Gent, Belgium, Semey moved to The Hague where he would continue his career. His work is characterized by clean lines, geometric forms, and the use of high-quality materials. He favoured dark woods and brass accents, as exemplified in his sideboards and cabinets. His furniture was designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, reflecting the modern aesthetic of the Art Deco movement.
