Biography
Christiaan Schröder was a Dutch glass engraver who was active in the 18th century. He is known for his intricate engravings on mirrors, often depicting portraits of prominent figures. The engravings were created by etching the surface of the mirror with an acid solution, resulting in delicate lines and shadows that create a sense of depth and realism. The images above are examples of his work.
