Biography
Baron François Joseph Bosio was a French sculptor best known for his Neoclassical style. He was born in 1768 and died in 1845. His work is characterized by smooth, polished surfaces, idealized forms, and a focus on classical themes. His subjects often included mythological figures, historical figures, and portraits. Bosio’s work is found in many museums around the world, such as the Louvre in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. His most famous works include the equestrian statue of Louis XIV in the Place des Victoires in Paris and the statue of Napoleon I in the Palais du Luxembourg.
