This anonymous woodcut titled “Verschillende scènes uit het boek Exodus” is part of a larger series depicting scenes from the Book of Exodus. Created between 1530-1533, this woodcut depicts various scenes from the story of Moses, the Hebrew prophet who led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. The scene at the top shows the Israelites escaping into the desert while a scene from the parting of the Red Sea and the Israelites worshipping a golden calf are depicted below. It is a fine example of woodcut printmaking in the 16th century, showcasing the intricate details and the skill of the anonymous artist. This piece is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
