The Angel Appears to Balaam 

Claes Moeyaert created this drawing, The Angel Appears to Balaam, sometime between 1601 and 1655. It depicts a scene from the Book of Numbers, where Balaam, hired to curse the Israelites, is confronted by an angel of the Lord. Moeyaert lived during the Dutch Golden Age, a period marked by immense economic growth and cultural flourishing in the Netherlands.
