Valerii Lamakh made The Fourth 'Book of Schemes' with ink on paper. It’s like a blueprint for an idea, where process is everything. Look at how Lamakh uses thin, precise lines to build this intricate tree-like structure within a circle, a sort of circular map, a bit like a mandala. The texture is smooth, the paper bare except for these delicate marks. The way the lines branch out and connect reminds me of circuit boards, but also of growth, of roots and branches. Notice the numbers at the end of each branch. What do they mean? It's this combination of the organic and the systematic that really grabs me. It's hard not to think of Hilma af Klint's diagrammatic paintings. Ultimately, art is about mapping the unknown. It’s about embracing ambiguity and exploring the endless possibilities of seeing and thinking.
