Laddie John Dill made this using neon, and to me, it’s like he’s writing with light. The colors in “Light Sentence (6)” feel so deliberate, and yet spontaneous. I love the way the colors shift and change – from that warm orange to cool blue and vibrant green. It’s like the sculpture is breathing! You can almost feel Dill experimenting, finding the right balance. The texture of the neon against the dark background reminds me of the paintings of Lucio Fontana. Dill has always been fascinated with light and the way it interacts with space. It’s not just about the colors he uses, but about how they feel. It’s an ongoing conversation, and I’m glad to be a part of it. It’s the kind of art that asks questions instead of giving answers.
