Geometry Class 

Don Ivan Punchatz created this charming scene of a Geometry Class with an illustration of a schoolhouse. We see the classroom in section, where students are learning geometry with solid shapes and computers, under the watchful gaze of their teachers and Albert Einstein himself. Consider the recurrence of the Platonic solids in this image, the sphere, tetrahedron, octahedron, cube, icosahedron, each representing a different element of the universe. These shapes, once seen as mystical keys to understanding the cosmos, have evolved from philosophical symbols to mathematical concepts.
