This print, *Queen of Hearts,* was made by Paul Klee using etching, sometime in his career. Klee had a way of setting up a composition, and then letting it go where it needed to, or perhaps just where he felt it should go. I love how the delicate lines come together to suggest a figure or a form. It's like he’s inviting us into a world of imagination, where hearts float freely and lines dance across the surface. There's a real sense of play here, a willingness to let the materials speak and to follow where they lead. Look at that spiral shape at the top, sitting on top of the straight lines, it feels like it is defying gravity. Klee reminds me a little of Joan Miro, both were invested in a similar spirit of experimentation. Ultimately, it’s a reminder that art is a journey, not a destination.
