This hat of brown velvet and chiffon, adorned with velvet ribbons and ostrich feathers, was made by Peel Mars. There’s something so intimate about clothing, and the way it molds to a body, it's like soft sculpture or a portrait. Look at how the velvet catches the light, creating deep shadows and rich textures, and how the ribbons form geometric patterns that contrast with the soft, organic forms of the feathers. Mars understood the relationship between surface and form, how the material itself becomes part of the message. It's like a dance between structure and chaos, control and release. In art as in life, ambiguity is where the magic happens, where we find new ways of seeing and feeling.
