Fusun Onur made Variations with paper clips on what looks like floor tiles, and the way those little clips cast shadows, it’s like she’s dancing with light itself. What strikes me about this work is how she coaxes something so delicate and playful out of the mundane. The palette is so subtle, almost monochromatic, until you notice the paper clips, each a tiny splash of rebellious color. The surface of the tiles looks worn, lived-in. It gives the whole thing a sense of history. Look at how each paper clip is placed at a slightly different angle. It reminds me of a musical score, each clip a note in a larger composition of the everyday. It's like a conversation, not just with the materials, but with the space itself. Onur’s work often feels like a quieter, more introspective cousin to some of Eva Hesse's material experiments, but with a uniquely personal touch that’s all her own. It's a reminder that art doesn't always have to shout; sometimes the most profound statements are whispered.
