Camilla d’Errico's ‘Pisces’ is awash in flowing watercolours that bring a sense of dreamy fluidity to the piece. Look at how d'Errico uses colour. Blues and teals run into pinks and browns to create the hair, cascading down the body in rivulets. There’s something magical about watching how those colours behave, how they bleed and blend. It reminds me that painting isn't just about control but also about letting go, allowing the medium to have its own say. The drips feel like the painting is still in the process of becoming, embracing the messy, unresolved aspects of creation. I’m reminded of Remedios Varo, who delved into similar mystical themes. Both artists create these fantastical worlds, inviting us to explore the more fluid spaces of the imagination. Art is never really finished; it’s a conversation across time and space.
