This is the "Liberiaanse ridderorde (Order of the Star of Africa)" given to Willem Drees around 1950-1960. The award is displayed in a dark red box, velvet lined, with the medal, a blue and red ribbon and a smaller star pin. The order, bestowed by Liberia, represents a high honour and is an example of international recognition of political leaders. It is now a part of the collection of the Rijksmuseum.
