“– So we have stolen the balloon of Mr. Green?,” plate 31 from Tout Ce Qu'on Voudra, is a lithograph by Honoré Daumier created in 1848. The satirical print shows two men in top hats, one with his hand on the other's chest, the caption below in French translates to “So, we have stolen Mr. Green's balloon?”. Daumier was known for his social commentary and often used caricature and satire to expose the absurdity of society, including the hypocrisy and corruption of the French government. This lithograph, housed at the Art Institute of Chicago, is a fine example of Daumier’s social critique and his mastery of the lithograph medium.
