Buddhist Ascetic 1730 - 1740

This porcelain sculpture of a Buddhist Ascetic, approximately 10 inches tall, was created by the Chantilly manufactory. It is believed that this sculpture draws its influence from Giuseppe Castiglione, an Italian Jesuit who served as an artist in the Qing court.
