Editor: This intriguing print, "H. Left: Television Series ‘Lost in Space’: Robot as in ‘Forbidden Planet’. Right: Soviet Dog and Man Exit from Space Chamber" by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, really throws me back to Cold War anxieties and sci-fi kitsch. The juxtaposition is just so bizarre. What do you make of it? Curator: Bizarre is the perfect word! For me, Paolozzi's work has this wonderful way of encapsulating the anxieties of technological advancement, but with a knowing wink. It’s as if he’s saying, "Yes, robots might take over, but aren't they fabulous?". Does that resonate with you at all? Editor: Absolutely! It's like a beautiful, unsettling dream, combining the familiar with the utterly strange. I guess I never really thought about robots being fabulous before. Curator: Well, everything is fabulous if you give it a chance, right? I mean, in a weird way, isn't that what Paolozzi is showing us?
