Editor: This is Sir Eduardo Paolozzi's print, "Secrets of Life - The Human Machine and How it Works: Bird." The combination of mechanical shapes and the birds in flight creates such a strange juxtaposition. What do you make of this piece? Curator: It's a collision of the organic and the manufactured, isn’t it? Paolozzi often explored that tension. The birds, traditionally symbols of freedom, seem almost controlled by the geometric framework. Maybe he’s asking if our pursuit of progress is actually caging us. Does it feel that way to you? Editor: I hadn't thought of it that way, but I see what you mean. It's definitely food for thought. Thanks! Curator: Absolutely! It's a puzzle box of meaning, waiting to be opened.
