Rosalind Solomon made this gelatin silver print, New York. The way she's worked with light and shadow here, it's almost sculptural, like she's carving the forms out of darkness, or perhaps even out of love, who knows? There's a real intimacy in the way she's captured the couple. You notice the details, like the way the light catches the texture of their hair, or the soft focus that blurs the background, bringing the couple into sharp relief. It’s not just about what's visible, but also what's felt. Solomon isn't just showing us a picture; she's inviting us into a moment, a relationship. It reminds me a little of Diane Arbus, but with a warmer touch, a sense of human connection that cuts through the surface. It’s a reminder that art, in its many forms, is just a way of seeing and feeling our way through the world.
