This small terracotta figurine of a standing female figure, created by the Chupícuaro culture in what is now Mexico, dates to between 250 and 300 CE. The figure is depicted with a simplified, stylized body and a prominent head adorned with a headdress and earrings. The figure has large, almond-shaped eyes, a flat nose, and a wide mouth, which contribute to its expressive, somewhat childlike appearance. The sculpture is a reminder of the diverse artistic traditions that flourished in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica.
