Editor: So, this is Elena Prentice’s watercolor, titled "Landscape," housed here at the Harvard Art Museums. It's a small work, but the washes of blue give it a somber, almost weighty feel. What do you see in this piece? Curator: I see a moodiness, a fleeting moment captured with such delicate intensity. The visible framing lines add a sense of immediacy, like a diary entry. It feels like a memory, not a perfect reproduction. Editor: A memory? I like that. It does feel like a fragment, something half-remembered. I hadn't thought of that. Curator: Absolutely. And perhaps that's the beauty of it, leaving space for our own interpretations to fill in the gaps. What do you make of it now? Editor: I guess it encourages me to look closer at my own memories. Thanks for that.
