Editor: This is Elena Prentice's "Landscape," and it's currently at the Harvard Art Museums. It's a small watercolor piece. The muted tones give it a very dreamlike quality, almost as if it's a memory fading away. What do you make of it? Curator: It feels like a half-remembered postcard, doesn't it? The kind you find tucked away in an old book. I wonder if Prentice was trying to capture a feeling more than a place, that sense of distance and longing. Notice how the bridge is present but obscured, like a path forward we can't quite grasp. It makes me wonder, what landscapes haunt our own memories? Editor: That's beautifully put. It definitely adds a layer of complexity I hadn't considered! Thanks!
