Santa Fe 

Cheryl Olsen Bowers created this artwork titled "Santa Fe" using abstract forms and minimalist lines. The work evokes a sense of landscape, bathed in warm, earthy tones reminiscent of the American Southwest. Notice the horizontal lines that traverse the canvas, creating a stark contrast against the amorphous, cloud-like shapes. These lines, so reminiscent of horizons, can be traced back to ancient Egyptian art, where the horizontal plane symbolized stability and the earthly realm. Yet, here, they seem to challenge that notion, suspended almost precariously above the shifting ground.
