Editor: So, this print is by Gerd Winner, simply titled "[no title]". The texture of the brick is incredible, almost photographic. What jumps out at you when you look at this, Professor? Curator: It’s like a memory, isn’t it? The ghost of industry, the poetry of decay. The repeated architectural elements, the grimy brick juxtaposed with that almost aggressively red loading bay… it’s about absence, I think. Where did everyone go? What stories do these walls hold? What do you think? Editor: I hadn't thought of it as absence, more like a strong presence of the past. Curator: Precisely! It's that tension, that push and pull between what *was* and what *is*, that makes it sing.
