This print, Très Parisien, No 7, was made in 1923 by an anonymous artist. Look at the floral dress; it’s like a canvas blooming with color. The artist isn't trying to hide the process here. The dress, described as 'Les Prés fleuris sur Toilaine,' is really about the surface. It's a field of small marks, blue, purple and green, suggesting flowers but mostly just making a lively pattern. The bold pink bow at the back adds a touch of drama. It’s decorative, yes, but also kind of punk in its simplicity. The whole piece feels immediate, like a quick sketch capturing a fleeting moment of beauty. This reminds me a little of Sonia Delaunay's fabric designs, where the pattern and form are equally important. Like a conversation between artists across time, constantly echoing and reinterpreting each other's ideas.
