Editor: Here we have *Exodus*, a photograph by Scott Fraser. There’s a whimsical quality to it, with this trail of goldfish crackers leading from a packing box to a bright blue paper bag. What strikes you when you look at it? Curator: Well, my dear, the title, *Exodus*, combined with those little goldfish making their way, instantly evokes a sense of journey and migration. But is it freedom or a march towards the unknown? Look at that box—isn't it both a container and a potential prison? It feels almost biblical, yet deliciously absurd. It is as if a miniature world filled with the simple items found in our own kitchen is ready to challenge our beliefs of time, purpose, and fate. And what of that lonely bobber riding above a sea of cheddar, like a flag for the brave? What does it tell you? Editor: The bobber? It feels… nostalgic. Reminds me of childhood fishing trips. Curator: Exactly! The beauty here is the unexpected fusion of these everyday, even banal, objects. It is where the symbolic dances with the mundane. It reminds me that our own existence may not always be the picture of gravitas that we attempt to capture and project in our everyday lives. If you could caption this image in your own words, what would it be? Editor: I think I’d call it, um… *Hope Floats*, maybe? It's simple but fits. Curator: Perfect. A light touch on something profound! I believe there's a certain liberation in laughing *with* art, instead of simply staring *at* it. Don’t you agree? Editor: Absolutely. I came looking for technique and instead found something deeply reflective and joyously humorous.
