This untitled sculpture was made from wood by Mihai Olos. What strikes me is how Olos has built this form out of simple, repeated elements. The texture of the wood is so present, warm and soft like balsa, each block is a testament to process, a unit of time. This is not about grand gestures or perfect symmetries, but the quiet rhythm of creation, one piece at a time. I see the careful construction in the way the light catches on each wooden block, highlighting the irregularities, the small misalignments, the evidence of the artist's hand. The negative space is so important as well, making the whole a kind of structural poem. I can't help but think of Sol LeWitt's modular structures, but Olos brings an earthy, handmade quality that speaks of folk traditions and the simple joy of building. In the end, it's less about what it is and more about how it makes you feel, the sense of wonder it inspires.
