Vangel Naumovski made this large painting called Rascetane vatre, translated as Blossoming Fires, that’s nearly two meters wide using oils in a way that feels both precise and playful. It’s as if he's imagined a garden on another planet, full of shapes and colours that don't quite exist here, but feel strangely familiar. The paint application is smooth, almost like glass in places, but then you see these tiny details, like the little white dots around some of the forms, which give it a handmade, human touch. Look at the way the colors blend and shift, creating these smooth, dreamlike transitions. The string-like lines create a tension and pull everything together, activating the whole surface. Naumovski, who was known for his surrealist style, reminds me of Hilma af Klint, in his ability to create his own visual language for another reality. Art is like this ongoing conversation, where each artist adds their own voice, their own vision, to the mix. It’s about creating space for ambiguity, for different ways of seeing and experiencing the world.
