Here is the audio guide script about Czóbel Béla Szentendrei Udvar. Bela Czobel rendered this pastel drawing of a Szentendre courtyard, using strokes of green, yellow, pink and brown. The composition is organized around a cluster of trees that frame a building. The pastel medium allows for a textured surface where individual marks remain visible. The strokes build up layers of colour that define the forms and create a sense of depth, yet the loose handling of the pastels flattens the space. We see a play between representation and abstraction. Czobel engages with the Fauvist use of colour to evoke emotions. The drawing destabilizes traditional perspective, suggesting a world seen not through a rational, fixed gaze but through a more fluid, subjective lens. Note how the artist's signature in the lower right corner is integrated with the design. It’s as if the signature itself is another element in the composition. This work challenges conventional ways of seeing.
