Leon Sacré made this symmetrical lace trim using thread and a needle, though when, exactly, remains a mystery. The detail in this work just blows me away, especially knowing it was all done by hand. Look at how the thread loops and interlocks, creating these ornate, swirling shapes. You can see the artist's hand in every tiny stitch. Imagine the patience it took to build this up, one loop at a time. It's like a drawing in thread. And the creamy color of the lace is so delicate, almost like a whisper. This piece reminds me of a Cy Twombly painting, the way it balances control and improvisation. Both artists create these sprawling, intricate compositions from small, repeated gestures, inviting us to get lost in the details. It really highlights how art is as much about the making as it is about the final product.
