Nicholas Roerich gave us "Higher Than Mountains" and it’s like a dreamy landscape made of pure blue vibes. Check out how Roerich lets the color do the talking; it’s all about the tone, and the mark-making is so simple. This resonates with me since I’m really into process, you know, just letting the painting happen. It’s all about the texture, with these layered shades of blue. It almost feels like you could touch the clouds and mountains. And then there's that figure floating above, draped in what looks like a cloud-cape. It makes you wonder, is it a god, a spirit, or just a trick of the light? It reminds me a little bit of Hilma af Klint, with her spiritual explorations, but Roerich keeps it grounded with those solid mountain shapes. Anyway, art is all about opening doors and letting your mind wander, right?
