This small, silver coin, known as a "rekenpenning", was made in 1570 by an anonymous artist. It depicts Philip II, King of Spain, on the obverse side, and his coat of arms on the reverse. The coin commemorates the Spanish king's actions against the Dutch rebels during the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648). The coin, which weighs 4.12 grams and has a diameter of 2.8 cm, is currently part of the Rijksmuseum collection in Amsterdam.
