Alfred Freddy Krupa made this painting, One girl at the window, using a whole lotta colors and shapes, like a stained-glass window got together with an abstract painting. I can imagine Krupa laying down these strokes, one by one, building up this world bit by bit. There's this creamy figure in the center against a red background, and then this wild explosion of yellows and blues and blacks all around, like the world outside that window is bursting with life. It's not about perfection, right? It's about feeling, about pushing and pulling the paint around until something new emerges. Painting is like talking to other artists, and the best paintings don't tell you what to think. Instead, they open up a space for you to wander around and make up your own mind.
