This is ‘Ludens’ by Dragan Ilić Di Vogo, and it's a trip. I see the making as a process of building up layers, a kind of controlled chaos where representation and abstraction are constantly negotiating. The horse is white, but not really. It's a canvas for all sorts of marks and gestures. I am drawn to the globes and cubes scattered across the horse’s body. These elements aren't just painted on; they seem to emerge from within the form itself, almost as if the horse is generating its own universe. I find the drips and splatters really interesting, like the painting is sweating. This painting reminds me a little bit of Francis Picabia, who also loved to throw different styles and ideas together in the same canvas. What I love about this piece is that it doesn't offer any easy answers. It's more like an invitation to play, to imagine, and to question what painting can be.
