Mantel clock frame 1865 - 1875

This gilded mantel clock frame was designed by Bruce J. Talbert, a Scottish architect and designer, during the height of the British Aesthetic Movement. Talbert was an influential figure in the late 19th century, advocating for an integrated approach to design where all elements of a space should harmonize. The Aesthetic Movement, which ran roughly from 1860-1900, prioritized beauty and artfulness above all else.
