This engraving, "Spaanse krijgsman ca. 1550," was created by Enea Vico before 1558. The piece depicts a Spanish soldier, likely a mercenary, standing in a contrapposto pose holding a shield and sword. The soldier is dressed in armor and clothing of the period and appears to be ready for battle. The piece is a fine example of Vico's skill in depicting human anatomy and military dress, highlighting the artistry of the Italian Renaissance era. It is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum.
