Jaroslav Keluc made this oil painting, Under Mountains Jeseniky, with a very free hand. Just look at how he's built up the paint. It's all about that process of smearing, layering, and letting the colors mix right there on the canvas. Up close, you can really see the texture. It's not about hiding the brushstrokes, but embracing them, like he’s saying, “Hey, look, this is paint, and I’m making a picture!” See how the foreground is all these dabs and dashes of yellows, reds and greens? It’s like the paint itself is growing up and out of the field! And then the way those blues and whites blend in the clouds, it gives the sky a real sense of depth and movement. This reminds me a little of Van Gogh, how he wasn't afraid to just go for it and let the paint do its thing. It’s like Keluc is saying, “Here’s what I saw, but more importantly, here’s how I felt when I saw it.” It’s less about perfect representation and more about catching a mood.
