Editor: This untitled print by Robyn Denny features geometric shapes in shades of blue, purple, pink, and gold. The composition feels very balanced and contained. What symbols or underlying meanings do you see in this work? Curator: I see the influence of urban planning and perhaps even early digital interfaces. Consider how colour fields evoke emotional responses. The blue rectangle, often linked to serenity, is encased within the purple, historically a color of royalty and power. How do these juxtaposed symbols speak to you? Editor: It's interesting that you say that, since I don't really get any immediate sense of royalty. Curator: Perhaps, but the deliberate use of symmetry suggests a quest for order, a visual metaphor echoing societal structures and our psychological need for balance. Editor: That's given me a new way to view the work, thank you. Curator: My pleasure.
