Glider, Zurich 1942 - 1945

This is Robert Frank’s Glider, Zurich, a small gelatin silver print. It’s one of those images that hangs back, almost shy. I look at this glider on a mowed field, surrounded by folks, and I think about Frank looking through the viewfinder. What was he thinking?
