Nono Reinhold made this print called 'Tôt le matin', or 'Early Morning', and it's got this great process-y vibe with its textures and greens. It feels like I'm looking at the inside of something, maybe a rock, or some kind of geological formation. It is full of marks, lines and scumbles. Look at the surface – it’s not just about the image, but about the physicality of the ink on the paper. The way the green kind of pools and gathers, especially in those little rocky shapes surrounding the central form. It is so tactile, you can almost feel the gritty texture just by looking at it. Then there are those dark lines cutting through the green, like cracks or fissures, giving it this sense of depth and history. It reminds me of some of the early abstract expressionists, like Clyfford Still, who were also into exploring these primal forms and textures. Like their works, this piece really embraces ambiguity.
