Rose Freymuth-Frazier painted "Spring Dream" without specifying the date, but I reckon it’s from nowish! The pink and violet tones of the blossoms, they're applied in these soft, almost feathery strokes, which gives the whole scene a dreamy, hazy quality. You can practically smell the flowers. I mean, this is painting about a process of transformation, a moment of rebirth, that kind of thing. Look how Freymuth-Frazier uses the reflections in the water, not just to mirror the scene, but to kind of abstract it, right? There's a real push and pull between representation and something more ambiguous going on. And the way the colors blend, it’s not super precise, but has this lovely, atmospheric effect. I’m reminded of Monet’s paintings of his garden at Giverny, the same fleeting beauty, and fascination with light and color.
