Hendrik Krock’s “Siddende mandlig model og skægget mandshoved” (Seated Male Model and Bearded Man’s Head), created sometime between 1671 and 1738, is a delicate charcoal drawing featuring a seated nude male figure and a bearded man’s head. The drawing showcases the artist’s skill in capturing anatomical detail, especially the subtle contours of the male model's musculature. The contrasting poses of the subjects and the artist’s light and fluid lines create a sense of movement and dynamism. This study, part of the collection of the SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst, is an example of Krock’s exploration of human form and the artist’s preliminary work for larger compositions.
