This dress, made by Maison Yteb, features a corsage of bright pink roses and matching grapes. I’m really drawn to the way the embellishments seem to float on the sheer fabric. It gives the impression of something ephemeral, almost like a memory fading. Take a look at the roses - they are not just pink, but so many different shades of pink layered to give depth and texture, like when you are building a painting. The dressmaking process itself seems like a painterly act. What really stands out is the contrast between the delicate, almost fragile corsage and the darker, more substantial dress. The play of light and shadow creates a sense of drama, but also a feeling of intimacy, as if we’re being invited to share in a private moment. It reminds me of the work of Jeanne Lanvin, who also explored the relationship between form and embellishment in her designs. Art is a conversation, right? We interpret, respond, and carry on the dialogue.
