Marino Marini built up this bronze sculpture bit by bit, almost like sketching in three dimensions. The rough, earthy texture of the bronze gives it a sense of ancient history, like something unearthed from a forgotten civilization. You can see the artist's hand in every mark, every lump and groove—it’s super tactile. I can almost feel Marini wrestling with the material, coaxing it into shape, and probably re-doing it over and over. I imagine Marini was thinking about movement, balance, and the relationship between the rider and the horse. Does it feel like a harmonious partnership or a struggle for control? I like how the forms are simplified, almost abstracted. It reminds me of Giacometti's sculptures. Artists keep the conversation going across time, you know? One idea sparks another. Ultimately, it’s not about answering questions but opening them up.
