Glass cooler c. 1819

This ornate, gilt bronze cooler, crafted by the renowned French silversmith Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot circa 1819, showcases the intricate details and grandeur characteristic of the Neoclassical style. The piece features two putti figures supporting the oval bowl, which is adorned with a band of scrolling foliage and a decorative rim of acanthus leaves. The central foot is also richly embellished with a similar floral motif. Odiot’s exceptional craftsmanship in this work exemplifies the high-quality production of the early 19th century.
