Janos Mattis-Teutsch made this painting called ‘Composition’ with what looks like oil on canvas, and I’m already intrigued. Just look at those dynamic swirls of color, like a vibrant vortex pulling you in! I can almost feel the artist’s hand moving, layering those strokes of pink, yellow, green, and black. It’s like he’s trying to capture some kind of vital energy, the essence of something blooming. I wonder what was going through his mind when he made this. Was he thinking about flowers, or maybe something more abstract, like the rhythm of life itself? Each brushstroke feels so deliberate, yet there’s also this sense of freedom and improvisation. It reminds me of Kandinsky, but with a bit more…earthiness, maybe? For me, painting is always a kind of conversation. We’re all, as painters, riffing off each other, across time, inspiring each other to see the world in new ways. And it’s never about having all the answers, but about embracing the questions.
